Because raising the fare and cutting service just wasn’t enough torture for the MTA to inflict on straphangers, the New York Post reports that many of the lines in the system have been running between 4-5% slower for the month of September. Trains like the 1, 2, N, Q, 5, 6, and M are all showing a decrease in performance. And despite the agency barely being able to keep existing lines going, the city is proposing an extension of the 7 train into New Jersey.
