Like a real life version of 1987 movie Project X, mad scientists have been irradiating monkeys to study the impact of the exposure on their brains. In the film, the military was examining how radiation would effect pilots flying through nuclear attacks, in this case, it’s NASA-funded researchers looking to see how astronauts would hold up on missions to Mars. But due to protests by schoolchildren and animal activists, the $1.75 million experiment at the Brookhaven National Laboratory has temporarily been shut down.
