Poll: New Yorkers Susceptible to Irrational Fear of Islamic Centers

No longer a bastion of pluralism and tolerance, according to a New York Times poll, two-thirds of city residents want a proposed Islamic center near the WTC site moved to another location. With the 9th anniversary of the September 11th attacks approaching, the results aren’t all that shocking and considering that New Yorkers have discriminated against one cultural group or another at some point in history, not that surprising either.
