salingerAB Last week, J.D. Salinger passed away. He was the author of many books, but is most known for “Catcher In the Rye,” a novel on the required reading list for virtually every American student and probably one of the best selling Cliff Notes ever—which just happens to be highlighted on their homepage. Anyway, artist Robert Vickrey created an illustration of him that appeared on the cover of Time magazine in 1961 and it’s now been enshrined at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. |ArtsBeat|
