Ratting Out Graffiti Earns Extra Cash in Colorado

01.06.10 Will Sherman

graffitiIn hopes of wiping itself clean, a Colorado town is increasing rewards for graffiti tips 1000 percent! The old prize, $50, apparently proved too little an incentive for tattling, so the Pueblo Crime Stoppers are offering as much as $500 for info on alleged vandals.

Officials are also attempting to engender help and shame writers into giving up with a new ad campaign proclaiming, “”Graffiti is cowardice – help us catch the cowards.” If that doesn’t work, they may just have to raise the reward again. After all, it did take $5000 for a Tennessee mom to tattle on her graffiti-writing son. |Pueblo Chieftain|
