Brazil will be hosting the 2016 Olympic Games. To mark the occasion, they’re planning to build a giant shiny monstrosity that’s half fake waterfall and half solar panels. The aim is to make the Rio Olympics to be the first zero-carbon games ever.
In digital preview, the Solar City Tower looks similar to but more impressive than Olafur Eliasson’s NYC magnified plumbing mishaps waterfalls. Hopefully this won’t cause similar problems in Rio as it did in NYC and spraying sea water around isn’t as harmful as spitting up East River water-like substance. If the flora on the side of the Rio island starts dying, it won’t be very green any more. |TreeHugger|
