Fake TV show host and real US Speedskating team member, Stephen Colbert, unveiled his official Winter Olympics poster designed by none other than Shepard Fairey, proving that while the AP might own the rights to the ‘HOPE’ image, the graphic designing tycoon still owns the monopoly on that signature colorway.
It’s available for download (PDF doc) on the Colbert Report’s official website, but with the host actively encouraging supporters to “post it all over Vancouver!,” it carries this legal disclaimer: “Please observe all local laws and ordinances respecting the posting of bills.”

Somewhere out there a photographer and or designer are checking their catalogs to see if Fairey used their images!
oh well, losers always win. Yawn. A rolling stone gathers no moss. Uhh. go away. Begone young prince. I'll get you my pretty and your little dog too. what's his name. Drool. Who are you again? You seem to have rather advanced illustrator skills.
Stephen colbert is such a personality. Though the message might be slightly confusing for people who do not watch the show or know of him, the poster is still quite a good looking piece of art. I definitely distracted me as I was playing free online slots.
Is it really possible to hold a monopoly to a specific color scheme? I understand that images can be copyrighted and protected, but what is going to stop others from using a specific color scheme? In any case, I doubt anyone would seriously paste that poster around Vancouver.
