It’s a cartography double bill! Eric Fisher follows up his tourist vs. local maps by race-mapping the residents of the US metropolitan top 40. Meanwhile, designer Yanko Tsvetkov handily maps how US/Germany/etc stereotype Europe. Because dubbing Germany as the land of “Dirty Porn” is wrong. Wrong!
The Pointillism of mixed-color-flurry in the diverse SF Bay Area is great. NYC kind of looks like salad. The rigid geometrical segregation of Detroit is the most sobering.
And those “geography of prejudice” maps are pretty. Pretty sad.
