That basically what Chris Ward, Executive Director of the Port Authority, suggested on Wednesday at Crain’s New York Business Breakfast Forum. His exact quote: “LaGuardia should not be the gateway for fliers into New York City; it should fundamentally be torn down and rebuilt again.”
He makes it sound so simple, but if one runway closure at JFK is already causing chaos, can you imagine what shuttering LGA would do? Plus, screw you Mr. Ward, I like the idea of being able to get to an area airport in 10 minutes or less. If anything, tear down the Van Wyck Expressway, it’s quite possibly the worst piece of roadway in all of NYC. |NYCAviation|

The worst road is the Cross Bronx. It's always jammed, hasn't been paved since Nixon was in office and shakes when trucks go by leaving you with the feeling that you could fall to your death while wearing your seat belt.
