Brooklyn Bridge Park is mostly a picturesque retreat where lovers and families can relax and take in the breathtaking surroundings. But it does have some shortcomings. For one, bikes aren’t allowed. Secondly, the fun, rotating metal domes are burning the shit out of kids. The sun has this uncanny ability to heat up the disks, turning the sleekly designed merry-go-rounds into human frying pans. |NYDN|

Maybe the park's designers are too young to remember the days when cars were made of metal and sitting on the hood of one on a hot summer day would leave you with prisoner-of-war-like burns.
