According to The Art Newspaper, officials have buffed a lot of Banksy’s work in Park City and Salt Lake, which is true, EXCEPT for the cameraman piece they posted with their article, the only one located on private property. ANIMAL contacted the Java Cow Cafe by phone and reached Lucia the manager, who walked outside and informed us that the piece is still on their wall.
She said they plan on doing whatever they can to keep the piece and have contacted Mayor Dana Williams so the city doesn’t automatically remove it. Another option they’re considering is preserving the piece with plexiglass. Oh, and to the random people that keep coming in and offering money to cut the wall out, forget it, that’s not gonna happen.
