The votes are in and the winner of the NYC Health Department’s condom wrapper design contest is… Luis Acosta’s power button at 23%. The mauve and yellow “power to take control”/Mac button rip-off logo will grace the “limited edition” wrappers. New Yorkers bag it with 40 million of the city’s free condoms a year, so that’s some great exposure right there.

Translation of symbol:
"Insert hot dog in hallway."
Since when does the international symbol for power, which is on virtually everything, have anything specifically to do with a Mac?
I'm just pissed that they're wasting money and manpower changing the condom wrappers in an economic climate like this when the previous wrapper was fine and there are so many better things the city could be spending time and money on.
@Johnny Since some of us have it hovering in our peripheral vision for endless hours on a daily basis. But sure, point taken.
Nice to see we have money for the real important things in life, I'm tired of see them waste it on those silly transit system thingies.
Well golly gee. It seems my HP has turned itself into a Mac! (Same power symbol here, too, but apparently it's Mac-centric.)
I'm learning so much today…

Apple may have a good case for trademark dilution under the Lanham Act, specifically for tarnishment and blurring.
Turns me on.
I think art and free condoms are great even in a recession – risky sex will always exist in a huge population and hopefully so will art. BTW, mac products are OK but their marketing has all of their customers thinking they are very unique and original individuals.
