ruinedGerman police recovered a 400-year-old Caravaggio painting estimated at $100 million, sloppily sliced out of its frame two years ago from Odessa’s museum by a gang of “international” (mostly Ukrainian) art thieves. It was Ukraine’s most expensive painting, authenticated by the Soviets in the ’50s, but might not even been a “real” Caravaggio. Either way, it’s all tattered and chipped to hell now.
