Despite all the cuts in service and widespread public opposition, the unstoppable MTA has once again approved a fare increase. The $2.25 base fare will remain the same, but the cost of single ride and unlimited MetroCards will be increased sharply. Below is a breakdown of the changes that will make you even angrier the next time you’re waiting endlessly for a train to come.

Single Ride: $2.50
7 Day Unlimited: $29
30 Day Unlimited: $104
MetroCard: $1 (For those who do not refill their old cards)

Oh, and for those of you who ride the LIRR’s cattle cars, expect an increase of about 7-14 percent.
