Tabloid Builds “Perfect” Frankenstein Woman, Run Away!

The New York Post presents: The hottest selling body parts on the plastic surgery market these days, cobbled together into one “Perfect Woman.” She has Taylor Swift’s hair, Halle Berry’s jaw line, Anne Hathaway’s eyes, January Jones’s cheeks, Natalie Portman’s nose, Scarlett Johansson’s lips and is creepy enough to make Cher’s tautest face lift crawl. Original Fake: Seth Rogen

I’m not really sure what to make of this photo showing sort-of-comedic actor Seth Rogen at KAWS’ Original Fake store in Japan, except to say it’s probably Complex’s fault. The mag has featured him on several covers, here’s his third, and obviously exposed him to a world far beyond fart jokes and Wu-Tang. And he’s totally running with it. The universe is truly out of balance. (Photo: Medicom Toy)

9/11 Coin Crackdown

No sympathy for marks that buy these “patriotic” tchotchkes that supposedly contain silver “recovered from the vaults beneath the ashes of Ground Zero” and are legal tender… in Liberia! Yet, it’s great that finally someone’s cracking down on this “commemorative” 9/11 coin crapshow. Read more »

The Thing That Has Been Happening A lot this Winter Is Happening Again

Hey, in case you’re a late riser living in a basement apartment with no windows, it’s snowing, for like the millionth time. A winter storm warning has been issued from right now to Thursday morning for the entire tri-state area and is expected to dump anywhere from 3-5 inches.

Parting Shot: Clowning Around

This past weekend, an artist braved the freezing weather to paint a new mural and inevitably, a fresh canvas for graffiti writers in Williamsburg. (Photo: Will Sherman/Untitled Name)

Hot97 needs to chill with the softball interviews and while I understand that Jamaica is a small island with lots of contradictions, Cipha Sounds and Rosenberg let dancehall artist and skin bleacher Vybz Kartel off way too easy.

A graffiti artist with far too many names to list is rereleasing a book that will enamor some and completely bore the shit out of others. Preview it here.

Pac Manhattan Print

The two arcades at Penn Station are long gone, but there’s still something about old school video games and NYC that vibes really well. And while the pixel by pixel destruction of our great metropolis is fun to watch, this 8-bitscape print by artists Jamie Sneddon and Kevin Rozario-Johnson is a much more feasible way to tickle your 80s nostalgia.

Painterly Photos of Drowning Roses

These “drowning roses” were photographed in a 7000 gallon custom made tank. The Dutch Masters influenced series is all in-camera, no post editing — digital or analog — because photographer Alexander James is a crafty purist. He’s also “untrained and unsullied by achedemicism” (in other words, “Screw art school!”) yet, he rigged the lighting just so. Impressive. Read more »

Here’s the Video that Brought ‘World Star’ To Its Knees

Well, at least a portion of it. According to YouTube users ishatonyouwho filed the DMCA notice—and fellow collaborator, iSlusho from LaughAloneTV, a stolen segment from this video is what ended up temporarily shutting down World Star Hip Hop for copyright infringement. Read more »
