Graffiti Complaints Drop Citywide
As graffiti complaints decreased across NYC, they rose sharply in parts of Queens and Manhattan according to figures cited by the Daily News. Does this mean there’s an increase in vandalism or just bitchy people willing to call 311? It’s probably a mix of both. The point is, the general public doesn’t like it. “It attracts the wrong element,” said one woman. And if by that she means bloggers, she’s absolutely right!

I think NYC (especially Manhattan South) caught the buff pretty hard in the last few years. So many gates are gone now. I think that all these areas were being hit for years but people never reported graffiti when there was an abundance of it. They almost never noticed the additions. Now that everything is clean, everyone notices "new" graffiti so they make the complaints. Meanwhile store owners had tags on their tags piling up for years and years. That'y my theory at least. Chinatown is probably the cleanest its been in ages adn the graffiti reports tripled? makes absolutely no sense.
Graffiti Free NYC truck was out on the Ridgewood/Bushwick border today. Bleh.
wanna see a graff-filled city? head up to montreal. the whole damn town is covered. good shit too. tons of pieces. it seems that they have embraced it, or, the artists are so aggressive that they couldn't imagine cleaning it all.
did you blow it up?
