BIG Ideas for Manhattan Building

It’s too bad the Port Authority didn’t hire the Bjarke Ingels Group to help develop the World Trade Center site, at least they’re trying to create something inspiring. The Danish architecture firm released renderings of this oddly shaped residential building planned for 57th Street between 11th and 12th Avenues. It’s expected to be skyline ready by 2015 and is proof that insect-inspired housing complexes are no longer just lofty concepts, they are the future!

Ronald McDonald Abductors Caught

A group calling itself the Food Liberation Army kidnapped a Ronald McDonald statue out of one of the chain’s restaurants last week and threatened to execute “him” in a terrorist-style video. Egyptians still haven’t wrapped up that little revolution of theirs as protests against a decades-old dictator continue in the streets of Cairo. The people are still motivated and may be getting reinvigorated by the release of Wael Ghonim, the guy from Google whose Facebook account is being credited with initially mobilizing anti-Mubarak demonstrations across the country.

Tetris the Board Game Upsets Natural Order

Proving that nothing is sacred, a game that only belongs in computer form has been adapted as a tabletop version. Tetris Link, the board game, makes its debut at the upcoming toy fair in NYC, where at least a handful of people will care.
