Please don’t confuse this with actual social commentary. Frey’s only in it for the trendy controversy. Like his trendy fabricated junky memoir or his trendy supernatural teen thriller ghostwritten by pimped, underpaid students, it’s all about lucrative genre peddling. Gallery owner Larry Gagosian joins the hustle to publish 11,000 copies of the book and drop it on Good Friday, on purpose.
