KATSU Adds Some Relevance to MOCA Exhibit

In just six days, the “Safest Show on Earth” will open at the The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, offering what should be an incomplete and thoroughly sanitized “history of graffiti and street art.” So, KATSU decided to pay a visit early and offer his unsanctioned critique by way of a paint-filled fire extinguisher on the museum’s exterior walls.

what i want to know is how is he flying all over the country just to spary paint?
hmmmm
First off that TAG is dope but I dont think this museum is worth the paint. MOCA lost thier credibliaty twhen hey buffed the blu mural. My prediciton is that they will let this tag ride in hopes to earn some of it back because on the surface it will look like they are embracing graffiti but it will really only be a further attempt to exploit graffiti and set the parameters in which they deem appropriate. If Im right this will be a cheap victory for Deitch and a true exercise in public relations.

Willing to be the KATSU extinguisher tag was planned by the museum for hype…
"bet", not "be"
anything and anyone involved with this show is wack. the only thing wacker is people who aren't really involved, but try to make themselves a part of it. as was mentioned above, it might be a publicity stunt. but it might not. either way, i wouldn't be surprised, and honestly, i cant decide which is lamer
roger gastman is perhaps the worlds biggest fanboy/jewboy, always trying to make money off the backs of others. too bad most people dont see it, oh well, real recognize real. funny how half the people on the list of participants aren't even graffiti writers. ed tempelton, terry richardson, mark gonzoles…wtf.
in conclusion: sad, but not surprising. cant wait till the market for selling "graffiti" bursts, like it did back in the 80's. maybe then people could go back to doing actual graffiti on actual streets and trains, and not "bombing" gay ass shit like the MOCA and the insides of galleries.
