Cheng Li was sentenced to one year of “reeducation through labor” at a labor camp after performing unsimulated sex acts on March 20 on a balcony and in the basement of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Beijing. The 51-year-old performance artist appealed for administrative reconsideration yesterday, since his charge of “causing a disturbance” is overzealous – only a small private audience of artists and critics was present. According to Suffolk Country District Attorney Tom Spota, the human remains found at Oak Beach may not all be connected to one serial killer and that at least four sets of them could’ve been dumped by two other murderers. He also said that the case isn’t like a TV episode of CSI and is “going to take a very long period of time to complete.” These developments must be very comforting to the seaside community and realtors set to start renting properties for the upcoming summer season.

Northrop Grumman unveiled its secretly built optionally piloted vehicle (OPV) dubbed the “Firebird.” Designed to fly in either drone or human mode, it can carry an array of sensors and surveillance equipment, including the ability to eavesdrop on phone calls from 30,000 feet. Although the defense contractor said arming the spy plane isn’t its “primary focus,” the aircraft will be capable of carrying missiles. Naturally.

A pair of protesters were arrested at a rally in Hong Kong yesterday for alleged “graffiti” in support of arrested/missing Chinese artist Ai Weiwei. They were detained and released on bail, but face “selective persecution” in June. Read more »
