Light Pole Rapper Shuts Down Times Square

Less than 24 hours after Times Square was shuttered so cops could courageously remove empty luggage that was left on the street, the area was once cordoned off because a clearly disturbed man climbed atop a light pole and started rapping. He refused to come down and the NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit responded with a ladder and one of those air cushions stunt men use.
For almost two hours they tried to coax the man down as the crowd screamed words of encouragement. “Jump” said a group of people, while others urged the officer to “tase him.” He eventually came down a little after 11AM and was taken into custody, thoroughly wasting precious resources and way too much of everyone else’s time.
