That’s the conclusion reached by Transportation Alternatives and the Drum Major Institute for Public Policy in a newly released report dubbed “Vision Zero” (PDF doc). Examining figures from the past decade, they show that “more New Yorkers are killed by traffic than murdered by guns.” Speedy drivers are the primary cause of traffic fatalities, trumping even alcohol or drugs.
