Smoking cigarettes in NYC parks is illegal, but there’s no law against a sub wearing a collar and openly serving his dominatrix as seen in this video. Not surprisingly, this footage was shot in McCarren Park and in keeping with the Gotham’s time honored tradition, no one appears to care.
As outrageous as these notices instructing Hasidic women in Brooklyn to stay fashionably oppressed are, this edict requiring them to move out of the way when a man walks down the street seems that much more egregious.

In less than two weeks, fixed gear documentary To Live and Ride in LA drops, and judging by the trailer, will undoubtedly attract the ire of pretty much anyone not familiar with the scene or track bikes. If you thought this “3 Way Street” video showed some irresponsible cyclists, wait till you press play.
If you enjoyed Helen Pynor’s poetic photographs of sick, strung up organs, you’ll like her series Liquid Ground, inspired by thousands of cases of accidental drownings in the River Thames. Currently on view at the GV Art Gallery in London, the photos show sheer white garments floating underwater as their guts and hearts spill out. Earlier today, it was reported—everywhere—that a California man’s house was raided by a SWAT team on orders from the U.S. Department of Education. They were looking for his wife, who had supposedly defaulted on a student loan. The man was detained, along with his three children for six hours, while police conducted a search. Read more »
According to sources who spoke to the New York Post, the NYPD are reportedly demanding that bar owners purchase pricey ID scanning equipment as part of an initiative to help fight Al-Qaeda and a police official told them they “are on the front lines of terrorism… We have to be the eyes and ears.” Well, I don’t know about you, but I’m convinced. If anything is gonna really keep us safe, it’s this.
For their unprecedentedly popular exhibit of street art, the Portsmouth Museum of Art in New Hampshire has put up ten murals, pre-approved by City Hall. Uptight locals who think “it just doesn’t fit in” have started a petition to “review” the work away. The museum wanted to bring the city “into world of 21st century art,” but certain cranky residents just want to “live in a nice clean city.” Read more »
