Since he has only been mildly vandalizing ads for a little over a year, the “Moustache Man” is the last street artist we expect to be given the Taiwanese animation treatment. He’s just not that prolific. It’s amazing what a well publicized arrest can do for someone’s “career.”
Light Pole Rapper Shuts Down Times Square

Less than 24 hours after Times Square was shuttered so cops could courageously remove empty luggage that was left on the street, the area was once cordoned off because a clearly disturbed man climbed atop a light pole and started rapping. He refused to come down and the NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit responded with a ladder and one of those air cushions stunt men use. Read more »

The Chinese government is reportedly demanding $1.85 million in “evaded taxes and fines” from dissident artist Ai Weiwei. Since his release, Ai is under constant surveillance and forbidden to use Twitter or talk to the media. Security goons have just prevented him from meeting an artist friend at a park because it “wasn’t part of the deal.” Read more »
You can never be too careful in knee-jerk America where something is trying to kill you around every corner, so when a “suspicious package” was found at the “Crossroads of the World” earlier this evening, overreaction was the only option. Late last week, Buju Banton was sentenced to ten years in federal prison for conspiracy charges related to a cocaine deal the DEA says he set up. If credited with good behavior, his defense attorney, David Oscar Marus, thinks the dancehall superstar will end up serving a little more than half that time and that’s exactly what he plans on doing.
