This is Not the World’s Biggest “Graffiti”

But it could be the world’s most expensive. Measuring two miles wide and half a mile high it spells out the first name of a rich oil sheik from the United Arab Emirates who paid a whole lot of workers to carve it onto Al Futaisi, a private sandy island in Abu Dhabi that he owns.

Forbes and Yahoo both described it as the biggest graffiti tag in the world and although it is visible from space, that’s not quite accurate.

A Texas landowner, naturally, still holds that distinction, with his “piece” stretching over 2.5 miles wide. It was reportedly created over two decades ago by selectively clearing part of a forrest so it would spell out his family name. Still, some purists among you might say it only counts if paint is involved.

So in that case, the MTA’s crews massive LA River piece was the biggest until it was buffed by the U.S. Army along with the biggest complex burner by SABER.

That leaves this massive work by the Norwegian FOS Crew in first place.

Wait, what about that MTA roller in LA?
I was in the process of adding that bit. Done and noted.
FIRST
why didnt the sheik spell his name in arabic…that would have been more gangster.
HAMAD needs to be filled in with water and then kayak that thing!
