Cannabis Genome Project

Here’s some of the coolest science news to ever be reported: the DNA of weed has been mapped out (both Sativa and Indica). Bubble-bubble. A company called Medicinal Genomics published the raw data, but will now have to assemble the 131 billion bases of cannabis sequence into a usable model.

That will then allow researchers to isolate specific genes, which is good for both recreational smokers and chronic patients alike.

For the latter, it could lead to the development of pot strains that deliver just the medicinal properties without the fun-getting-high effect, but for connoisseurs, the cultivation of super pot will become very possible.

Hmmm, personalise my flowers? Yes, well then I could tweak formulas for oil too! Stopped smoking flowers shortly after finding oil.
