Tourist Cages Installed in Times Square

A new public art installation by the Spanish collective mmmm… and the Times Square Alliance has strangers hopping into Meeting Bowls — gently-rocking, cage-like sitting booths that fit eight visitors — or less, if they’re from Mississippi. The month long project aims to foster “intimate” communication “in this enormous and often anonymous public setting.” You want that? Bring back the sex booths!

Tourist-phobics can see it vicariously over a Twitter hashtag, once it picks up. “Meeting Bowls,” mmmm…, Aug 16 – Sep 16, Times Square at Broadway and 46th Street
