This is the Nov 13th cover of The New York Times Magazine that illustrator Tim Enthoven drew out by hand. It’s a beaut! Which is conflicting, because it’s serious stuff. The cover story addresses last month’s prisoner swap when one young Israeli soldier who was kept by Hamas-affiliated captors since 2006 was returned in exchange for the release of 1027 Palestinian inmates, many who have been in Isreali prisons for years, their crimes ranging from involvement in terrorist activity to throwing rocks. Word. The only one allowed to make money from the movement is the movement.

The Texas doctor who proposed the theory linking K2 and other crappy brands of smokeable incense to heart problems admits the results of his vast test group, three teenagers in all, are still inconclusive. But hey, there’s no harm in a little speculating. Similarly, the DEA used its emergency powers a few months ago, to ban the chemicals used in making the herbal blends, potentially staving off mass deaths or more likely, lots of headaches.
