Amtrak Tells City It Would Need to Squat In New Terminal

America’s socialist train service that runs on our taxes and is known for derailing a lot, says it wants to move into the still hypothetical Moynihan Station when it’s built, but has no money, so would need the space for free. Amtrak hopes a new terminal will help safeguard its passengers from the crush of ruthless LIRR commuters at Penn Station during rush hour or as Moynihan Station Development’s Fred Bartoli put is, the “running of the bulls.” (Photo: Redfishingboat/flickr)

Putin Relates to a Magical Python on Live TV

Just when you thought that Hermain Cain’s presidential race drop-out speech quoting the Pokémon movie was the craziest shit you’ve ever seen… In Russia, Prime Minister Putin has just quoted the Jungle Book to call opposition “Bandar-log” ’cause he’s the motherfucking python! Read more »

Naughty Nuns

There was a time not too long ago when most people associated nuns with stern, ruler-wielding virgins and Whoopie Goldberg in Sister Act, but thankfully the wacky realm of high fashion is saving us from those outdated notions yet again. Photographer Meiji from MIRA studios lensed the blasphemous shoot, starring two models in all sorts of modified habits, jewelry, and a really shitty fake Air Force tattoo. Not quite sure what that’s about, but in any case the genuine nipple piercing certainly makes up for it. Confessions, anyone?

Hawk Just Chilling In Downtown Brooklyn

A reader who shares my affection for a certain local tabloid, was on his way to an art exhibit in Downtown Brooklyn recently and saw a hawk hanging out on the sidewalk. He snapped a few photos of the bird and then it was gone, but a New York Post reporter appeared. Blown away by the shots, the scribe asked the photographer to email them to the paper. However, his Occupy Wall Street conscience got the best of him and although he did send an email, the photos were not attached, those he sent to ANIMAL with this amusing account: Read more »

Banksy’s Bad Cardinal

This new Banksy sculpture was just unveiled at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. Entitled Cardinal Sin, the 18th-century style, tile-pixelated bust is a precise, minimalist jab at molestation cover-up ordained by the Vatican. Yet, to make things a bit more direct, it’s signed by the artist: “The statue? I guess you could call it a Christmas present. At this time of year it’s easy to forget the true meaning of Christianity – the lies, the corruption, the abuse… I’m never sure who deserves to be put on a pedestal or crushed under one.” Read more »

NYC Has to Rely Less On Wall Street Or It’s Screwed

According to a new report, the city needs to find a new sugar daddy or face an uncertain future. “Significantly lower Wall Street profits will make balancing New York City’s budget more difficult,” wrote State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli. Perhaps it’s not good fiscal policy to depend on dysfunctional gamblers to pay the bills?
