A hotel in Park Slope that normally charges around $250 a night, upped its rate to $999 a room on Saturday for anyone seeking shelter from the hurricane that never was. When the Daily News reached Hotel Le Bleu by phone, a woman who answered didn’t seem all that sympathetic. “If you can pay, then it’s on you,” said the employee. “There was a lady that booked two nights at that rate.” Oh, did she? Well, our bad, that totally makes it okay then.

That's nothing. I worked for Choice Hotels Int., and after Sept 11, as in Sept 12, we had hotels shooting their rack rat e to 500 to 1000 dollars a night. We actually had to send out an admin message to the properties, telling them to keep their rates normal, any jacked up rates and we'd pull their franchise. F*cking dirtbags.
