The sloth-like bus that traverses through the heart of hell (49th/50th Streets in Midtown), is the winner of this year’s “Pokey Award.” At noon, the plebeian mover was clocked hobbling along at 3.5 mph, which is the average speed New Yorkers walk, making it the slowest in the entire transit system according to the NYPIRG Straphangers Campaign and Transportation Alternatives, the bestowers of this prestigious designation.
