A police officer is thanking his lucky stars after a close encounter this weekend. Sergeant Michael Miller and his partner were frisking a driver they had pulled over in Bed Stuy when he felt a gun in the man’s pants – which is the universal sign for I am NOT happy to see you. When he attempted to handcuff the suspect, the man pulled the gun out and tried to fire it.

Miller quickly stuck his finger between the hammer and cylinder of the weapon, preventing it from firing. After a brief struggle, the two cops managed to subdue the suspect who was charged with attempted murder of a police officer, criminal possession of a weapon and drug possession, the latter of which is probably the least of his worries.
