DIGITALArtist Niklas Roy returns with his new project Electronic Instant Camera. It requires patient sitting like an old timey wet-plate photo-set up, interprets visual data with a techie video camera/thermal reader and instantly prints out pics like a Polaroid via a cheap receipt printer.

Surprisingly, this mishmosh of anachronistic concepts actually produces decent images — less expressive than the first ever digital photograph but who can resist functional kitsch?

In that tradition, here’s another fresh work from the artist combining vintage concepts and modern technology: PING! — the augmented reality pong game. Poke pixels to win!
