Tilt focus? Check. HDR? Check. Super wide angle? Check. Sometimes, this time-lapse does all three at once, from Vegas sunrise to Vegas sunset with the Moon soundtrack going dum dum dumdumdum. Too much?
Maybe, but this photographer really put the work into documenting every step of his process, which is super nice of him. So, if you have tons and tons of expensive gear and software, you might be able to DIY.
Also: Originality points for not going with Hans Zimmer. Clint Mansell needs love too.

Hello
Actually in defence of my piece. I do feel there is a lot of originality in this which is hard is a very overused field. This is not simply a collection of random timelapses but something that builds and attempts to tell a story leaving the comfort of the hotel room to venture outside into the madness through the bookends shots.
The HDR tone mapping was used for effect in the mid section when we leave the normal timelapses behind all with natural sound to the chaos of Vegas accentuated by the enhanced colours and motion. The lack of sound effects was also key to exaggerate the chaos with the powerful beat of Clint's music.
It sounds like you have seen a lot of timelapses but I wanted to do something different and I feel I achieved it.
With regards to your comment about tons of expensive gear and software. Sure I used lots but you can use one cheap old DSLR a wide-ish lens. Do work in post to add tilt shift in there, do zooms and the tone mapping software is only $99. Not out of reach for many people!
Thanks for the post though
Best wishes
Philip
Please don't feel like you need to defend your work. I spent considerably less time writing this than you did making your video. I couldn't do it with a mountain of equipment. And if you make a DIY guide for a BUDGET time-lapse, I'm sure many photogs will thank you.
P.S. The shot at 1:10 is my favorite.
