A class action action lawsuit was filed against the city on behalf of Occupy Wall Street protesters who were arrested on Saturday for marching on the Brooklyn Bridge’s roadway. They claim the NYPD deliberately deceived and entrapped them by escorting the crowd into the car lane.
According to the Partnership for Civil Justice Fund’s brief, “The NYPD engaged in a premeditated, planned, scripted and calculated effort to sweep the streets of protesters and disrupt a growing protest movement in New York.”
Hopefully, this means we’ll finally get a chance to see the TARU unit’s raw footage of an officer giving mostly inaudible warnings to demonstrators at the foot of the bridge and not just the edited video (notice 00:29 mark) that was provided to the media and to which they made no mention of.
