NYC artist Lee Lozano droped 30 hits of acid in 30 days, transformed her psyche and called it art. Her Drop Out Piece started in 1970 when she completely removed herself from the art world. It ended only when she was buried in an unmarked grave in Dallas. Her aggressive, surreal Tool series of paintings were done mid-heavy highs, but that was her usual mode of work and it worked for her. “Tools,” Lee Lozano, Jan 2 – Feb 19, Hauser & Wirth, NYC
