libyaHere’s the new trailer for Werner Herzog’s Into the Abyss: A Story of Life, A Story of Death, wherein he goes all “In Cold Blood” and interviews a convicted killer eight days before his execution in Texas.

Apparently, Michael Perry’s death row groupie that we saw in the clips released earlier this year is pregnant and he wanted fifty more kids. “Gaze into the abyss of the human soul,” and take that however you will.

Perry’s accomplice Jason Burkett got life. Three people died over some stupid car theft, yet, Herzog’s story isn’t about the specifics of the crime, but the aftermath, the one that drags on for decades and ends in an execution room. The reviews are saying it’s “well-rounded” view of “capital punishment,” which sounds frightening and looks solid. IFC drops this heavy one on Nov. 13.
