Kenny Scharf returned to his defaced mural on Houston Street earlier this evening and began renovating it with spray paint. Last week, the artist told a reporter who doesn’t credit others properly, that he would fix the wall, despite the high probability that it will be repeatedly vandalized, “If it gets hit once, it’s all downhill after that. If there’s another blizzard, they’ll just do it again.” (Photo: @Shyvonne/plixi)

FACES EAT RETARDS. BURP.
I have a feeling, that at this point, it will happen with or without a blizzard. The camera only means they will catch tags and not fill-ins. That's my expert opinion.
the barry mcgee wall never got dissed, if anything it got protected by the public, the owner of the wall should have real artist paint it if they want to stop throwing money down the drain on cameras and security guards.
there has to be more to this story behind closed doors we dont know about, i mean what's paint over paint, the obey mural had people''kicking in huge holes '' i can see then someone getting cameras or guards to protect the actual wall, but something has me thinking that the owner of the wall, after it had its time running is going to sell / auction off the bottom part of the wall sense it is ply wood and can be replaced. looking at kenneys canvas through past auction results is in the 50-70,000 dollar range, being a famous mural in the public eye i can see parts of the wall being able to sell easily, making up for the camera and guard cost and then some.
