Seattle-based artist John Brophy admits that all religious element in his surrealist paintings are pure kitsch, same might go for the swastikas. Mixing Japanese mythology, art history, Boschian chaos and Classic Flemish portraiture, he paints animal-headed holywomen and bare-breasted astronauts.
