Yesterday, Mayor Bloomberg signed the bill passed by the City Council that essentially makes it illegal for smokers to light up anywhere but their apartments and sidewalks. The Parks Department will enforce the law as the NYPD is way too busy detaining over 600,000 people a year to be bothered… for now.
