After a quick mic check, Occupy Wall Street protesters were quickly able to drum up support for a victory march to celebrate their non-eviction from Zuccotti Park. And they wasted no time making that happen.
Here’s a little sampling of what it looked like as demonstrators snaked their way through the Financial District, only to repeatedly clash with the NYPD scooter patrol whose idea of clearing the street basically involves running into people. A total of 14 people were arrested during this morning’s march. (Video: Nate Cepis/ANIMALNewYork)

god save america !!!!!!
Doesn't it seem weird to see the police attacking and cursing the people they swore an oath to protect?
The people are not their employer. Their employer is the Government ruled by the financial elite…. They are just as afraid to lose their jobs as anyone else, so they are kind of stuck in the middle here, I guess, with their own families to feed…..
I guess the Nazi's had their own families to feed as well.
My great-grandfather was drafted into service in the Nazi army during WWII. He did it not to feed his family, but to keep them from being shot in the head. The war ended soon enough to keep my grandmother's brother from being similarly drafted, but great-grandfather did not live to see the end of the war.
Then my grandmother grew up and married an American. Great-grandpa fought for the Americans in WWII, and I can only imagine how uncomfortable it was for everyone to think about who "the other side" really was.
Interesting that a protest with no name, no leader and no clear goals finds victory in a non-event that doesn't even align with their perceived non-goals. Setting the bar a little low these days?
if you don't get it by now, you never will.
oh i get it. just pointing out the wasted effort.
Just like the Tea Parties were a wasted effort? Those many diversified groups that sprang up from the people's dissatisfaction now control America. I am amused that the Tea Parties are saying these protests are a waste of time.
The protests of the sixties improved America. I am so glad to see them back.
thank you osmotw…. I said it once, i'll be back saying it once everything is over…. this whole mess is a complete nonsense of hypocrites that are really the reason your "1%" even exsists…
We all smoke, consume who's know how many drugs, destroy our livers, and contribute to the reason we are in this mess in the first place and all of a sudden people are screaming over a couple of dollars… it's mostly hype, and all those camping out make me wonder, don't you have jobs? or apartments to pay rent for?
Bucky what the fuck do you do for work? How do you make a living off this damn website?
1) If you need this answered, there's no hope. 2) By pointing out fools.
Bottom line, nothing's gonna change from all this except a bunch of band-aids on everyone's feeling of failure for their efforts
"[N]othing's gonna change from this." Hmm. Then explain this: http://gothamist.com/2011/10/17/72_of_voters_want…
Of course you're gonna point me out as the bad guy… I just slave away at a 9-5 and drink till my liver fails, i'm a happy camper, wall street isn't taking my alcohol
