Anytime a horse takes a stumble it’s a pretty awful sight, even more so when it occurs on the uppity streets of Manhattan. And that’s exactly what happened yesterday around 4:30PM near Central Park. Here’s some video of the aftermath.
According to the Horse and Carriage Association of New York, “No horse collapsed.” The spokesman for the group say it just caught “its toe in the pavement, which is quite common.”
However, a member of the Win Animal Rights group begs to differ. She claims that carriage horses are over worked during the holidays. “These horses were being worked non-stop, going over and over again, ride after ride without a break,” said Mary Xanthos.
Unlike the poor horse from last month, that never got up, this one is expected to live, but how many more of these scenes do we need to witness before we all agree it’s time to think of a new, less cruel alternative? The solution is sitting right here and it’s ready to roll.

Bloomberg only cares about ILLEGALS and TOURISTS. This industry makes this city look and smell like a 3rd world country. these thugs and peasants abuse the horses, overcharge tourists, work off the books, PAY no employer taxes, are in a fake union and probably are ILLEGALS with no driver licenses. piece of garbage. Shame on Bloomberg who doesn’t know this city. he lives in an gold plated tower. hate him with a passion
lazy ass horse.
I grew up on horse back, so allow me to make a fairly basic observation. Horses are quadrupeds. Unlike bipeds when they stumble, they NEVER collapse unless they've stepped in a hole or are very, very sick.
