Footage of several NYPD officers grinding up on dancers that was allegedly shot from this year’s contentious West Indian Day Parade has made its way onto the internet and we think it’s a good thing.
Considering all violence that took place that weekend and the tension surrounding the arrest of a City Councilman, this is the best piece of PR that benefits the police and parade organizers.
Sure, it might not have been the smartest move for cops to start daggering women while on duty in uniform, but this is a high energy parade and they got caught up in the moment for the greater good. At least these guys weren’t drunk and unlike their East Village counterparts, had consent.

These guys are expected to garner good relations with the community they police and this video is evident that is exactly what was going on. The people in the video had smiles on their faces. For this to be anything negative on the careers of the officers involved would be a travesty…….it's not like they were raping anyone.
although highly inappropriate,id rather see this than them shooting people at the parade.
Initally I thought this was pretty inappropriate. But there was a time when the cops were part of the community, and there job was to help. This video made me laugh and I guarantee it improved the view parade goers have of officers. Their actions were harmless and how often do you see african americans giving high fives to a white police officer? I personally have never seen it.
