Los Angeles-based artist Patrick Martinez brings a few of his signature neon pieces to the group show at the Known Gallery tonight. Disguised as standard commercial signage, these works disambiguate the problem with today’s hip hop, comment on the decrease in the standard of living with a “fresh produce” sign to a backdrop of junk and spell out encouraging/tongue-in-cheek aphorisms.
