Through the magic of robotics and the internet, people can now play with kittens remotely. The iPet Companion is a device that allows pet lovers to operate a web cam and activate toys in the hopes that their cute, but lazy little felines engage.

And it’s not just for home use. The Oregon Human Society is currently testing out the system in their cat room and so far, they said it’s been a huge success with across-the-board increases in adoptions, donations, and of course web traffic. I manned the controls for a few minutes, but couldn’t get them to play. A catnip dispenser could solve that no problem.
