An earthquake shook the New York City area today and along the eastern coast of the United States. A 5.8 magnitude reading was recorded between Charlottesville and Richmond, Virginia. Buildings including some on Delancey Street were evacuated shortly after tremors struck, but the real reverberations were felt on Twitter. UPDATE: The earthquake has just been upgraded to a 5.9 magnitude reading.

Felt like a subway went under our building except…the subway is a 15 minute walk away. Uh oh.
