Kind of funny how old that story is, a few years ago a play was written and preformed about specifically BK gentrification. Lazy journalism, but the issue is still real.
The title could be a description of most of Bucky Turco's posts. He/she is probably a spoilt hipster who contributed to the gentrification problem. I'm deleting animal from my feed, was interesting is now LAME!
Adios amigo and congrats on taking presumptuous speculation to frightening new levels.
Dude FUCK YOU! gentrification is a form of ethnic and class cleansing… It is KILLING the beauty and culture of NYC!
I grew up in a neighborhood where I lost my friends because of this – I saw the community garden i played in for years get demolished to the ground to build condos no one in the neighborhood could afford (then)!
What a shame, I really enjoyed your site, but will never support someone who supports gentrification…. Never
Why are some of you so angry? This ain't a boxing ring, it's a website. Chill out. I never said I support gentrification, nor does the spirit of the site reflect that. I just fucking hate the use of the inane word "hipster" and any serious point they were trying to make was deaded from the first graph.
using class warfare as a tool to manipulate people has become so common these days, the Post seems to be taking a page out of President Obama's playbook!!!
with the exception of the word hipster, i have similar feelings as the people in this article. gentrification is rapidly occurring in my neighborhood and ive been longing for someone to stand against it. good luck to el puente
None of those buildings were zoned, planned or constructed by the “people” that live in that area now. Neighborhoods always are in flux. That’s the nature of life. Paying rent dosn’t make it your permanent hog pen. No one is entitled to shit. Especially people that don’t take care of their neighborhoods.
Also, like the word "hipster," I feel that "gentrification" has become an equally inane term for what is a very complicated geo-demographic issue.
I can appreciate the perspective of those affected by the sudden changing on one's neighbor and cultural center.
To Bucky's point, this article reeks of weak, lazy, and mindless journalism, that serves only to muddy the waters.
