Putin is going to have a 14,586 foot tall mountain peak named after him in Kyrgyzstan. It’s not the first time for such tribute. When Putin had a street named after him in war-torn Grozny, Chechnya, the country’s hard-partying leader Ramzan Kadyrov said it was because 99% of Chechnyans luv Putin, kiss kiss. So this Peak of Vladimir Putin thing is a hug, in international relations terms. Putin did say not to make statues or name streets after him, but he didn’t mention mountains. Aw, you guys!
