‘Who’s Afraid of Ai Weiwei?’ Stenciler Hunted by Hong Kong Cops

This political graffiti has been seen all over central Hong Kong since the arrest and disappearance of China’s public enemy number one, artist Ai Weiwei. The stencils were noticed by a police patrol yesterday and now, the hunt for the mysterious street artist is on.

Ai Weiwei support is showing in the streets of China, on and in the Tate Modern and, most dangerous of all, on the Internet – i.e. everywhere in the world – much to the displeasure of the Chinese authorities. It makes sense why they would go after this particular troublemaker: Who’s Afraid of Ai Weiwei? is damn catchy. Dissent via meme! (Photo: AWWNeverSorry/Twitpic)
