City Council Speaker Christine Quinn is criticizing Mayor Bloomberg’s treat-the-poor-like-criminals-if-they-want-to-eat program and said that requiring food stamp applicants to be fingerprinted is wrong. She’s also says it’s a waste of valuable resources.
Other officials differ and say that it’s a necessary tool to fight fraud. After all, if poor people expect handouts that exponentially pale in comparison to the ones NYC’s wealthiest banks got, they should be scrutinized for that perk, right? It’s not like the process is demeaning enough as it is. There has to be other ways to monitor these people. Perhaps we could make them wear special sensors that detect anything they intake or, even more effective: demand stool samples.

The only good thing about that shit is those cards are considered state IDs. So police can’t pull that “no I’d? Hands behind your back” shit. And they count as 3 of 6 points needed for a DMV ID. But I would love to know how much it would save to stop.
They are trying to curb the widespread abuses of the public welfare system(s). If they don't, every time there is another abuse reported, they get another finger pointed at them. Therefore, they are required to implement some type of action. If and when I need government hand outs, I'm not gonna draw the line at finger printing. If you don't like it, move somewhere that you can a) afford to live or b) has a less strict welfare system.
yeah, because poor people can afford to pick up and just move elsewhere.
Cuz only rich people move right? “Poor people” never move and must stay put.
Been on a cross country drive… Ever? Its not all mercedes out there pulling uhauls. When you live in shit, you can find a way. The problem is fear and entitlement that keeps people in bondage.
